Proposal for financing alternatives in the Jaguaní Basin of the Alejandro de Humboldt National Park

Management in protected areas is characterized by a sectorial and disjointed approach; lacking resource allocations that generates financial gaps between the funds invested in each country and the amount needed for conservation work. Consequently, financing alternatives are proposed in synergy with the communities, as a contribution to financial sustainability in the Jaguaní Basin of the Alejandro de Humboldt National Park. Theoretical, empirical and mathematical statistical methods are used for the conceptual theoretical foundation regarding sustainable development in protected areas, financial sustainability and water resources. Likewise, instruments are applied for the gathering of information, the identification of the main ecosystem services that make up the basin, the financing alternatives for the improvement of management.
