Sustainable economic-financial management of higher education institutions in Cuba

Abstract

The present work is the result of research carried out in the process of improving the economic-financial management of the Ministry of Higher Education (MES) of Cuba, and of the network of its Higher Education Institutions (IES), whose purpose is the continuous improvement of the management of public spending, which allows achieving a more effective, efficient and effective financial planning and administration; being its most important contribution the design and application of a model of sustainable management of public spending that supports the strategic planning process and therefore financial planning at all levels, where the necessary resources are projected to fulfill the planned objectives and the effectiveness in its use. Armando Lauchy Sañudo, Ministry of Higher Education

Profesor Titular Graduado de Licenciado en Economía (1986) por la Universidad Central Marta Abreu de Las Villas, Director de Contabilidad y Finanzas del Ministerio de Educación Superior, Doctor en Ciencias Económicas y profesor titular del Departamento de Finanzas de la Facultad de Contabilidad y Finanzas de la Universidad de la Habana, profesor invitado de varias universidades de América Latina, ha investigado en diversos temas de la gestión empresarial, y administración financiera de entidades públicas, realizado trabajos de factibilidad económico-financiera y social de proyectos, especialista en gestión de PYMES, diplomado en administración pública; y miembro de proyectos de colaboración internacional de España, Bélgica y otros países, para el desarrollo de universidades públicas. Posee variadas publicaciones en revistas nacionales e internacionales. Participa como experto en investigaciones nacionales, así como en la Comisión Nacional de desarrollo del Modelo de Gestión Económico Financiero del Ministerio de Educación Superior.

Profesora Asistente. Graduada de Licenciada en Contabilidad y Finanzas (2003) por la Universidad de la Habana. Secretaria General de la Escuela Superior de Cuadros del Estado y del Gobierno. Especialista de posgrado en Contabilidad. Profesora asistente del Departamento de Contabilidad y Auditoría de la Facultad de Contabilidad y Finanzas de la Universidad de la Habana.
